Apple cracks down on use of the word 'pod' - vnunet.com

Is it just me, us is Applebecoming a bit overprotective? Seriously, filing a lawsuit over someone using the three letter word 'pod.'

"OH NO! That guy called his company Podpodyness INC! *GASP* SUE HIM!"

Come on Apple,  its not like you are going after Podcast Limited (who actually owns the trademark 'Podcast') are you? Are you?

    This Is Waiting Thisiswaiting.com

Omg, this is just so funny I had to post about it. There is this site called ThisIsWating.com about the European delay of the PS3, and there are tons of funny photoshopped images (at least funny to me and a few other people). Go check it out! They're seriously funny! Who ever would have thought there were so many films starring Ken Kutaragi?

Thanks to LetsKillDave for pointing it out.

    OOOH new computers!

Here I am in Computing Monday, Period 6 and 7, on the brand new Dell PCs.

There're pretty nice, 17in (i think) flat panel monitors and Intel Pentium D processors. Cd drives, that haven't been disabled yet (cup holders!) and those new slimline keyboards.

I would get you more detailed technical specifications but they've blocked access to the major control panel options where you can view the PC's components.

Nathan should be sending me some of the new pcs. He says he attached them just now, but I'm not sure.

Edit: Nathan has sent me a pictures but the bleeding computers won't let me install the software live Spaces requires to upload the picture. God damn it!

Edit2: Ah, finally, at home with unrestricted access to installation software. Now, do I make a new post about it?? nah, this post is at the top anyway.
    picture finally added!

    First Week of Sixth Form

Well, my first full week of Sixth form education came to a close about 4:30 3 days ago.

Overall, it hasn't been that bad so far, with a few little annoyances.

Firstly, I haven't received the money from the school that they owe me for helping out with moving some stuff to the new building.

Secondly, the computers that we were supposed to be using hadn't been fully installed yet. And even though they were actually there on our wednesday lesson, being set up on our thursday lesson, and fully operational on our friday lesson, our teacher Miss McCarney was mysteriously not there on friday. And the person who was supposed to do a cover lesson had a meeting and didn't find anyone else to cover. So we missed our chance to be amung the first to use the brand spanking new PCs. *grr* I'll get some specifics on the tech-specs next week, hopefully. I might even try and make a blog post from one of them!

Third, my lessons are spread all over the school site. And its a pretty big site, almost half a Km from end to end i would guess. Some are in the new building, like Computing, at one end of the campus and some are sixth form centre at the other, and an equal number are spread across the rest of the buildings.  Walking is not a fun form of exercise, and running is too strenuous. Maybe I should bring my rollerblades (read: lollerskates) into collage one day?

Oh, on Friday, while walking in town going home from school I saw Sally Stretton. A girl that used to go to Bluecoat and now goes to Clarendon, the same collage as my buddy Edward. And shes also special guest in one or two episodes of our new Sapien Creations Webshow! More about that in the next paragraph.

    Sapien Webshow
Some more interesting, non-school info is that myself and Edward have started a webshow. We think its pretty funny, and some other people have told us it is funny, so i guess it might be funny. As i mentioned, we have some special guests each week and play try to play some some music tracks. The first episode was actually released on Tuesday last week. Hmm, guess I should have mentioned that earlier.

Anyway, HERE is the link to the latest episode. All being well, episode 2 should be released tomorrow.

    Adios!

Talking about Interview with Major Nelson - Xboxyde

Have I ever talked about Xboxyde? Probably not. I do have a feed from their site on my blog here and the URL has been in one of my lists for ages.

Anyway, a little about xboxye. It is an xbox based media mega-site. Ie, they have tons and tons of videos and pictures of the latest xbox and 360 games. Its European based, and as such, have French and Dutch versions as well. They have vids and pics of almost every xbox and announced 360 game.

Anyway they have a new interview with Major Nelson (Larry Hyrb) on the site. Once you've finished reading that, go check out the rest of the site.

Interview with Major Nelson - Xboxyde

They also have a sister site, Playsyde, which is focused on Playstation games as opposed to xbox ones. And a Wiiyde is in discussion, but not confirmed.

Talking about Xbox Live's Major Nelson : Zune

Xbox Live's Major Nelson : Zune

Just a quite news post before i go to bed. This was posted yesterday on Major Nelson's Blog (Larry Hyrb) but i onl got around to checking his site today. Some pretty neat stuff in there. It looks like the player will have a pretty large screen, 30GB of space, and some unique wi-fi features. Go have a look!

No word on price or release yet though, as major says, but if its sub £180 it will be a sweet deal in my mind. I might have to get one to replace my tired little logik player.

Oh, on that subject, i'll have updated impressions on my Logik HDD40 soon, and unfortunately its not looking good...

3 red lights of death on 360 Demo kiosk

Surprising? Not especially in of itself. There were numerous reports of 360s crashing out due to various problems. Including the now infamous '3 red lights of death' where 3 of the 4 coloured quadrents around the power button would light up in blood red. Not unexpected in new products, and even more of a problem for such complex machines like the Xbox 360.

But, on a demo kiosk? Especially, 10 months after launch and the kiosk still not being fixed/replaced? Now THAT is weird.

Well, the proof is in the pictures as they say, or something like that, so just have a look at the attached pictures.

The offending shop is the Currys.Digital (ex. Dixons shop) on the Parliament Street end of the Victoria Shopping Centre in Nottingham, England.

And the cheek of the sales assistant! wow! When myself and a friend asked one of the sales assitants if they knew that their demo 360 was broken, he said "yeah we know. The 360 is rubbish. its always breaking. Don't buy it" Cheek!

Uh well, if any MS employees want to get a wire out to curry.digital and tell 'em to get their bloody demo kiosk sent in to be fixed go right ahead! It'd help everyone.
